Randomness

I go back to work tomorrow after having a week off, 10 days to be exact counting weekends and Good Friday.  I feel really exhausted.  It sucks that I have to go back to work to get a break.  So I am sitting her on my trusty laptop, just like I always am, and I am looking at new blogs and realized that I had eaten almost 3/4 of a bag of chips.  WTH!?!  I must have been hungry  I whisperer to myself, "Self, that is not the way to lose weight."  Not to worry, I  totally ignored myself, like I always do.

It is 6:33pm and I am so ready to go to bed but  have I mentioned, we have a pig.  Waffles is a about 9 months old.  She is a a black Vietnamese pot-bellied miniature pig. She is the queen of power naps, doesn't sleep all through the night; she is just like a two year old. It doesn't look like I am going to bed anytime soon.  My daughter just broke up with her boyfriend so I know there will be drama tonight. Sometimes the drama in my house is too much.

So, goes another day in my crazy life.  Stay tuned to The Old and The Depressed.  I am sure there will be more to tell about this evening.

Well, it is time for me to go back to work tomorrow.  Where did the week go?!?  I did get a lot of blogging, promoting, and visiting done online. I have met some awesome bloggers and some amazing blogs. So that must mean something.  Time to get back to the challenge.

Glorious is delightful and wonderful.  Like the weather today here in Indiana.  I think Spring has actually arrived, a little late but glorious none the less.

Glorious is beautiful and enjoyable.

To embrace the arrival of Spring, I am sharing with you some flowers.  They are brilliantly glorious:

When the Words Just Won't Come Out

Sometimes I feel like I have so much to say but the words just won't come out. Or I will just stare at a blank screen and thoughts will come and go so fast that I forget what I was thinking first.  Anyone else ever feel like this?  Well I wanna start wowing my readers with my humor, wit, knowledge, and style. But where do I start?  Surprise, I found just the tips I needed to develop new, inspiring, funny, informative content. Check this out!

At Lifehack, I found:

21 Ways to Develop Fresh Content Ideas for Your Blog

Writer’s block can strike without warning, whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned blogger, and when you’re confronting a blank page and a fast-approaching deadline it’s easy to get disheartened.
But don’t panic—here are 21 ways to rekindle your mojo and start wowing readers with your awesome content.

1. Survey your readers.

There are a few easy ways to do this: you can use a tool like Survey Monkey, or ask a question on Facebook or Twitter. Alternatively, if you have an auto-responder system set up, invite new subscribers to reply and tell you what they’re struggling with or what questions they’d like to ask. The more you engage with your readers, the easier it will be to create content they want to read and share.

2. Create a challenge.

Are you a health coach? Challenge your readers to run 20km a week or quit sugar for a month. A financial advisor? How about 3 months to a healthier bank balance? Each week, provide your readers with tips and inspiration to help them achieve their goals.

A to Z Challenge: Eloquent

Day number 5 of the A to Z challenge. For those of you in the challenge and those of you who are not, How are you doing today?

Eloquent sounds so fancy and elegant, doesn't it? That is why I have chosen it for the letter E.

Vivid, moving, and convincing expression is one part of the definition of eloquent. I guess that could be elegant.  To be eloquent is to be forcefully expressive in actions and gestures and to be skilled in fluent and appropriate speech. Sometimes I am eloquent when I speak. But I am especially eloquent in my expressions. I talk with my hands, my sneezes are loud, and I am just plain animated at times.  Oh so be it.  I am just being eloquent.

"They are eloquent who can speak low things acutely, and of great things with dignity, and of moderate things with temper."
--Cicero, The Orator

10 Tips to Help Relieve Depression and Heartache

by Julia Humphrey for Tiny Buddha

As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.” ~Johann Von Goethe
Not long ago I was completely imprisoned within myself, feeling lost without any direction. Sleeping consumed most of my time. I had brief moments when I checked in on Facebook, only to get a glimpse of others’ seemingly perfect lives with holidays, parties, babies, and weddings.
This made me more miserable, as I felt I had nothing going on in my own life.
Frustration was building within me because somewhere deep inside, the dreams that I had hidden away wanted me to start pursuing them. Easier said than done of course, but I knew that hiding under my duvet cover wasn’t going to take me anywhere.
I needed to change my negative outlook on life to a much more positive one. In this new process, I started to apply what I call the 10 “T”s to help with my feelings and fears.  ---Read More---

A to Z Challenge: Discerning

Here we are and it is already Day 4 of the A to Z Challenge.  I am choosing positive words that I do not or rarely use.  So this is a learning process for me during this challenge also.  Yay!  New words I can use and sound really important and smart!

Discerning is showing good judgement and understanding while being insightful and wise.  Being discerning is a good, positive personality trait to have. Having a discerning nature is one I strive to maintain.  I am able to make and pass good judgement while using my knowledge and experience on the subject or task at hand.  Whether it be about me or others I will be lend a discerning opinion at all times

By looking at, becoming conscious of, our attitudes,
definitions, and perspectives, we can start discerning
what works for us and what does not work.

Google Saved my Life, Saved me Lasting Despair

I just had a terrible scare.  I decided that I didn't need 2 gmail accounts so I decided to delete one.  Well I guess it was the primary one that I deleted..  I clicked on Blogger to go to my blogs and they were gone.  My heart sunk to the floor.  A strange feeling of deep despair came over me.  I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack.  I tried to calm down and think.  I kept trying to navigate through Google help and Blogger help but was getting confused.  I kept thinking "I need to speak to a real person, got to talk to someone." I even found an actual phone number for Google. But after a little bit, I just came to a screen and right there it said something about restoring an account. I followed the easy instructions and then right before my eyes as quickly as the  blogs disappeared everything popped up.  Thank God it worked.

I kept thinking "What am I  going to do?"  I worked so hard on my blogs for the last year.  I was devastated at what the outcome could  have been.  To have had to create my two blogs from the very beginning again would have been too much. I thought for sure that this was not going to turn out well.  But I am glad that I never gave up looking for a solution online.  Google saved my life along with the man upstairs.

It has been about a half hour since I almost caused a great catastrophic event and I still feel really funny inside. It was a really weird feeling that I don't think I will forget.  A feeling of such deep, dark, heaviness ascended upon my chest.  My breathing was heavy.  The feeling of such despair and impending doom is something I haven't felt in a very long time.  This all may sound stupid or look like I overreacted but I just had no control of how I was feeling on the inside.  I just kept busy looking for a quick solution in hopes the feelings I had would subside.

Whew!  That was a close one.  I thought I was doing the right thing but now I know it is just way much easier to deal with two gmail accounts than what could have happened.  I had worked hard to promote my blogs, establish myself in the blogging community, and was just starting to feel comfortable with the layout of my blogs.  Anyway, catastrophe diverted.

I am too old to go through this again :LOL.  And to think I am fairly comfortable and knowledgeable with  computer issues and thought I knew quite a bit about online practices, yet I just about killed everything I had worked for. What was I thinking?  I will call Google in the near future and have them help me to get rid of one of the emails.  I am just too busy to have more than three primary email accounts.  Hell, I just about gave myself a heart attack over this episode. Until next time, I think I will have a drink.

5 things to think about before saying ..

I just came across this blog Just Mildly Medicated and this post 5 things to think about before saying to someone with a chronic illness (especially if you are an ass) cracked me up.  When you are chronically ill or suffer from major depressive disorder such as I do, it sure helps to laugh at yourself and then laugh at the stupidity that others display.  I really related to this post, just because we look okay and function in a way others think is normal doesn't mean that we aren't sick

A to Z Challenge: Centered

Day 3 of the A to Z Challenge and I am moving right along.  I am now scheduling posts to help me keep up.  This challenge means more to me than I thought it would. Wow!  Who knew!

I am working on becoming more centered, more calm on the inside. I want to be become more emotionally stable.  Being focused on who I am, what I am thinking, and what is important in my life is what will keep me centered.  Meditating is one way of achieving a better relationship with your soul. Yoga is another way to unify your inner self with your outer self.  Inner peace is a having a centered, unified, love of self that brings calmness and that will help you to stay focused on the important things that really matter in your life.

Being centered is always looking inside yourself for focus and guidance and applying the knowledge to your life.

“Do not look for happiness outside yourself. The awakened seek happiness inside.”

A to Z Challenge: Buoyant

Day 2 of the A to Z Challenge.  WooHoo! I am still in it!

One day I wish to have a more buoyant spirit.  I need to be more cheerful, and carefree; especially not easily depressed.  Now that sounds like a dream.  I want to be more lively, happy, and upbeat.  I have my good moments and bad moments but as long as I remain buoyant, my attitude will be awesome.

Here is a haiku I found by Kim Nelson at Kim Nelson Writes

Be brilliant. Be bold,

Bouyant, benevolent, brave.

Be not benighted.

So today I ask that you just be buoyant!  Like a balloon in the sky, carefree and lighthearted.  Keep floating along in life as merry, joyful, and delighted as you can possible be and everything will be alright.

Frustrated

I am feeling so angry and frustrated right now.  I have a toxic person in my life and do not know what to do. They are sucking the life out of me.  I feel trapped and stuck.  Why is it that when a person is miserable they have to be mean and nasty to everyone.  I don't know how much longer I can deal with this.  I have no place to go.  Of course, I would have to be the one to go and not them.  This really sucks right now and is taking its toll on me.  I am unhappy, angry, and so full of negativity.  I feel like I am turning into them.  This I do not like.  Something has to change and soon but not knowing what to do about it is so frustrating.  I will not be defeated and I will not stoop down to there level.  I am better than that.

I will feel better soon and I trust that the right decision on how to change my life will come to me in the right moment.  But until then I will continue to fight the fight.  I know that I was given this life because I am strong enough to handle it but sometimes I just want a break from it all.

A to Z Challenge..An Auspicious Beginning

This is my first post for the 2013 Blogging From A to Z Challenge and boy am I nervous. As of right this minute, my theme for the month is positive words. I have a list of positive words to choose from that can be used in affirmations. Affirmations are positive self-declaration statements that I may need to get me through this challenge. Since positivity goes along with aspects of my blog my theme should work out quite nicely.

Now picking a positive word everyday that corresponds with the letter of the day and posting about it is going to be tough but I feel this is an auspicious beginning to a great month and an awesome challenge.

Auspicious suggests that the future is likely successful. I am going to have a promising outcome. I feel like things are in my favor and I have hope for the future.  Maybe I don't need to be nervous about this challenge after all, I got this!
