Randomly, positively, and honestly

/

Looks like I am still in the challenges!
Go Me!
I will not let depression stop me now!

The Blog-a-Day Challenge ends tomorrow.
The Ultimate Blog Challenge goes all the way to the end of July
(the 31st is my 43rd birthday--Am I really getting old???)

Let's begin, shall we!?!

Are you ready for another random blog installment
coming directly to you from me?

Okay, I am feeling daring so I am going
to air some of my dirty habits
(dirty laundry isn't one of them).

I am a collector, no matter what my daughter says.
I am in no way a hoarder and no I don't have trash
just randomly laying around, but maybe,
occasionally I may have excess amounts of paper in plain view
(and in a small, compact, 2-drawer filing cabinet,
besides you never know when I might need something),
lots of unread magazines (I swear I will read them),
and numerous knickknacks (in dire need of dusting).

Okay, I admit I am in great need of some serious organizational skills,
a lot of major de-cluttering ideas, and excessive
amounts of general tips to simplify my life.

Now that I have admitted my problems, and have addressed my
depression issues, I am ready to make some serious changes.

The darkness has lifted.
My old friend has left for now.
The light in my life has returned.

I will change what I can and accept what I cannot.
I will not dwell, worry, or stress out on the the things I cannot change.

I am open to all goodness that is headed my way.
The good I do in my life and for others
will come back to me generously and I am ready for
the goodness, greatness, and love that will succumb me.

Did I mention I am ready, ready for change?
I am looking forward to the remaining half of 2013 to
be the best yet.

Oh yes, I rejoice, the darkness has lifted.
Once again I am victorious.
I won this last battle against the darkness.
I am strong enough again to live this life I was given.

Stay tuned, I am back on track to being happy and:

My Second Guest Post

I am just floored that someone else has asked me to do a guest post on their blog.  It amazes me that someone thinks that highly of me, little ole' me.  None the less, I am honored and excited to see my name and work in print, a dream fulfilled.  Thank you, Tracy for having me on your blog!  You have no idea what it means to me!

Tracy at A World Outside My Window wanted to know how I stay positive when dealing with depression (and anxiety) on a daily basis.  So I got down to business and wrote my second guest post.  Thus, My Life in a Nut Shell was born.  It showcases the things I do to stay positive.  Mind you, I am not positive 24/7 but on a good day, I sure try my best to see the brighter things in life.

Be sure and look around Tracy's blog.  She, too, blogs about her life journey with mental illness.  I am so honored to know her, she is an amazing person and blogger.  Don't forget to check out her resources, and her recovery plan for mind, body, and soul (it's in the footer).

Thank you again, Tracy!

10 Tips to Help Relieve Depression and Heartache

by Julia Humphrey for Tiny Buddha

As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.” ~Johann Von Goethe
Not long ago I was completely imprisoned within myself, feeling lost without any direction. Sleeping consumed most of my time. I had brief moments when I checked in on Facebook, only to get a glimpse of others’ seemingly perfect lives with holidays, parties, babies, and weddings.
This made me more miserable, as I felt I had nothing going on in my own life.
Frustration was building within me because somewhere deep inside, the dreams that I had hidden away wanted me to start pursuing them. Easier said than done of course, but I knew that hiding under my duvet cover wasn’t going to take me anywhere.
I needed to change my negative outlook on life to a much more positive one. In this new process, I started to apply what I call the 10 “T”s to help with my feelings and fears.  ---Read More---

Thanks to tinybuddha.com for always having such great self-help, inspirational articles!

A to Z Challenge..An Auspicious Beginning

This is my first post for the 2013 Blogging From A to Z Challenge and boy am I nervous. As of right this minute, my theme for the month is positive words. I have a list of positive words to choose from that can be used in affirmations. Affirmations are positive self-declaration statements that I may need to get me through this challenge. Since positivity goes along with aspects of my blog my theme should work out quite nicely.

Now picking a positive word everyday that corresponds with the letter of the day and posting about it is going to be tough but I feel this is an auspicious beginning to a great month and an awesome challenge.

Auspicious suggests that the future is likely successful. I am going to have a promising outcome. I feel like things are in my favor and I have hope for the future.  Maybe I don't need to be nervous about this challenge after all, I got this!
