Please feel free to share this picture. It came from Facebook.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is real.
We tend to forget that our Soldiers and even our Veterans,
well rather physically strong and seemly put together on the outside,
are not immune to mental illness.
They endure so much mentally and emotionally that
they need to know that it is okay to not be okay.
Let's show them we care by being an open ear for them when they want to talk.
An open path for communication is very much needed
in order to stop the stigma and to let our Military, past and present,
know that help is readily available to them.
No one needs to feel ashamed for being sick.
Mental Illness is nothing to be ashamed about.
You didn't ask for it, it isn't contagious, and it is treatable.
Please reach out to others.
You are not alone.
Jamie

DeleteAs long as we keep raising awareness on PTSD and mental illness with soldiers and veterans, together maybe we can make a difference in their lives.
