Long before I stumbled upon just.Be.enough's launch of Three Words, I had decided that 2013 was going to be my year. I know that I want to make personal changes this year that include learning to love and accept myself as I am, with all my flaws and insecurities. I am also on the pursuit of happiness. I believe that now is the time that I start living the life that I deserve, that I am destined to have.
At times I am not sure if life is passing me by or trying to knock me down. I just want to take life by the horns and tame it to my liking, I guess you could say and I feel that persistence will be the key to experience my life in a brand new and improved light. Now that I am older and wiser, I feel that nothing should be holding me back. Yet, it seems that January went by so fast that I haven't really been able to work as hard as I would have liked towards my goals. I suffer from depression and been dealing with the illness since I was diagnosed at age 19 (I am 42 now). I will not let it get in the way of me changing to better myself. Despite the daily struggles I face, I am more positive than I have ever been in my life. I am embracing change one day, one month at a time. I am more accepting of myself than I have ever been. I guess not caring what others think about you comes with age, thank goodness. I am now able to focus on the tasks and goals at hand. And that is for me to live a happier, more fulfilled, loving life.
Since February is a short month, I will have to get down to business and work hard and focus to be able to achieve the steps necessary to reach my goals. All I can say is that I don't think I have ever been more ready and eager for change. I have lived a stale life long enough. I want to live. Now I just have to get my broken down car fixed. Being without a car for a week and a half, it sure put a damper on my plans. But I am strong and determined that this too shall pass. Bring it on February.
